My name is Rev. John Street. I am the pastor here at Erlanger UMC. My wife Lorie and I were appointed to serve this fine congregation as of July 1 2002. We remain excited about the spirit of the people here at Erlanger UMC. We have seen that this church is hungry to grow as we share the good news of Jesus Christ and mature in the Christian faith. Lorie and I have four children. Shelby, our eldest son, is nine years old, Grace, our daughter, is seven, Matthew, our second son, is four, and Abigail, the youngest, is two – while old dad turned fifty this year. Oh, to be young again.

I want to invite you to come and see what God is doing here. There is something for everyone at this church. We even oversee a complete care day care center with the capacity for seventy children called Grace Edgett Child Development Center. We are entering into a major building program which we hope will include a recreational center, a theater, a new school facility for our Grace Edgett CDC, and a contemporary worship space – as well as a new office wing. As you browse the pages on this website, you will see just a sample of the many dimensions of ministry that are currently ongoing at Erlanger UMC. If you don’t find something that is “up your alley” perhaps you are the one God has chosen to start it. This is a place where you can get involved and use your God-given gifts and talents.

You will find that we preach and teach the traditional, orthodox Christian faith and are a Bible believing, Spirit led, prayerful, grace receiving community of faith. If you are new to the Christian faith, or investigating the claims of Christianity, we have counseling and classes for you as well. Prayer groups, ministry groups, home and church Bible study groups, support and interest groups, and recreational and social activities are very active here and there is one for you. Last, but certainly not least, I want you to know that we are fully committed to children here at Erlanger UMC. We believe that they are not only the future but also equal partakers of God’s grace in the here and now.

There is a place for you to believe, belong, and become here at Erlanger United Methodist Church. Come and help us as we work together for His glory and grow in the love of the Lord Jesus Christ.
